Truly local and organic, Local Buzz Honey comes from bees that forage the foothills bordering Escondido and Valley Center. The bees from Local Buzz hives forage on plants that make up the native habitat of Valley Center, primarily sage, buckwheat, wild lilac, and acacia. They also forage from a backyard orchard which is also 100% organic with no use of sprays or pesticides, citrus blossoms being a favorite of the bees.
Why is this honey soooo delicious? All the credit goes to the bees! That said, Local Buzz never dilutes, pasteurizes or otherwise changes the precious honey. The hives used in production are called "Flow Hives". These have specially designed frames which make honey harvesting much simpler and does not damage the hive. Local Buzz honey collection does not require a bee suit to harvest because the bees are so undisturbed.
